
LaToya Highsaw Jointer
LaToya Jointer is a respected Indianapolis attorney, community advocate, and emerging leader in the legal profession. A first-generation high school and college graduate, LaToya’s journey reflects resilience, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to
excellence. She graduated from law school while raising her six-month-old child as a single mother, a testament to her perseverance and determination.
LaToya’s work centers on helping families resolve disputes
involving divorce, custody, parenting time, guardianship, and related matters while positioning clients for healthier
next chapters.
LaToya’s professional excellence has earned statewide recognition. She was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026, an honor awarded to only 2.5% of attorneys in Indiana each year. She was also recognized as a 2025 Indy’s Best and Brightest by Junior Achievement. In 2024, LaToya was name a Diversity in the Law
Honoree and a 2024 Distinguished Fellow by IndyBar for her contributions to the Indianapolis legal community.
Beyond her practice, LaToya is deeply engaged in leadership and service. LaToya currently serves as Vice President of Membership for IndyBar. She also served as a past Board Member-at-Large for IndyBar and as Board Liaison for the Family Law Executive Committee. In 2025, she was selected to chair the Pro Bono and Public Outreach Committee and also serves on the Public Policy Committee. Previously, she chaired the Professionalism Committee, where she was instrumental in organizing expungement fairs that helped dozens of individuals remove barriers to housing and employment.
LaToya is passionate about mentorship and access to justice. She regularly mentors law students and young attorneys to help prepare future legal professionals. She is also actively involved with the You Yes You Project, working with incarcerated fathers at Pendleton and Putnamville Correctional Facilities to strengthen parental relationships and provide pro bono assistance in family law matters. Her efforts have helped expand legal access to underserved populations across Indianapolis.
